The Gribshnobler and LadyMsGee discuss the dystopian science fiction novel Parable of the Sower by acclaimed author Octavia E. Butler.  We talk about the novel's social commentary, the likelihood of its environmental and political premise occurring in reality, and its commentary on race, class, and gender.  We also draw from Gerry Canavan's non-fiction work Modern Masters of Science Fiction: Octavia E. Butler.  Included is some dark ambient music by Cold Womb Descent and litmus0001.

Note: While no explicit language is used, much of the novel's subject matter discussed is unsettling in nature.

Here is the article mentioned in the podcast - "Fear of a Feminist Planet" by Laurie Penny, from The Baffler: https://thebaffler.com/blog/fear-feminist-future-laurie-penny
